The Ceremonies are based on the friendship which existed between David and Jonathan which can be found in the Book of Samuel, Chapters 20, 22 and 23.
There are three degrees in the Order - Induction Ceremony followed by the Prince's Degree (or the Degree of Admission) and the 3rd Degree which is when a Brother is installed as Supreme Ruler. On his Installation, the Supreme Ruler is also commissioned as a Supreme Ruler which entitles him to conduct ceremonies in any Conclave. This Commissioning is usually conducted by the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler or his Deputy or other Grand Officers on request.
The Conclaves are, in the main, allocated to a Province in the British Isles or to a District overseas. The Province is governed by the aforementioned Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, assisted by his Deputy and Executive and he is entitled to hold a Provincial Grand Conclave meeting at least once each year.
After completion of his year as Supreme Ruler, depending on his ability and the work he has done for his Conclave and the Province, he may receive Provincial Grand Rank and in four to five years’ time he may be promoted to the rank of a Grand Officer.
Inter-Conclave visiting and indeed, Inter-Province visiting is actively encouraged with members travelling long distance to be with their friends in other Conclaves and Provinces.
Finally, the only regalia required by Brethren on admission into the Order is a Prince Degree Jewel at a nominal cost. It is only when Brethren become Provincial Officers that they need to purchase further regalia.
